Poor old Abimalech fell for the old wifey-sister trick twice. It also shows us that the Old Testament heroes of faith really were a mixed bag - some strong points, some major character flaws.
S and I quite often get mistaken for brother and sister. Probably because for the sake of others we like to keep the PDA's to a minimum. We only get slightly offended by the suggestion of our being related (we're both Anglo, after all). Surely much worse, is the suggestion to siblings that they're married. From experience I say, if in doubt suggest brother and sister.

ReplyDeleteI actually tend towards public PDAs, within reason and taste, of course. I think it's actually a good thing, for the sake of others.
I know there's points on both sides, and I'm not going to give my wife a big sloppy kiss in front of someone I know is massively struggling with their singleness, but I never hear anyone make the opposite point.
haha. haha, i've had the married comment re me and my sister, and british customs asked if we were on our honeymoon. strange
