It's unfortunate really, that most of the time the Australian Christian Channel is filled with American garbage. Especially because great Australian content is being relegated to the midnight shift.
Two reflections;
1. Just like Christian radio, the ACC is only as good as the people who are willing to invest time into it. Less whinging, more investment.
2. That said, I feel like writing a letter to whinge about Australian content being relegated behind imported rubbish (or I suppose 'trash' would be a more appropriate word). My logic being that most Australian rubbish is no worse than American rubbish, but it may result in helpful Aussie content being given a better airing.
I remember hearing a comedian observing that the difference between Australia and the US is if someone is angry in the US, they'll go and shoot somebody. Whereas in Australian "I'm so angry, you know what I'm going to do? Write a letter."
Yes the ACC is pretty bad, I often get frustrated at it and cannot understand how we can have the so called 'christian' shows on a supposed Christian channel. But some shows like the two you have mentioned are good, there are others if you search.
ReplyDeleteStill even with the bad shows it helps us to understand the type of christianity people are investing into and how we can help them mature.
So i want to encourage you to keep dispising the lack of content in these shows, and use it for good.
