Joyce Mayne-r

Have you ever heard of Joyce Meyer? She's a really good Christian public speaker. Really good at public speaking. Really lousy at Christian teaching.

Joyce is a proponent of, amongst other things, that old chestnut the prosperity gospel. So it came as no surprise to me that anyone who speaks of the rapid increases God has planned for your bank account, would become a purveyor* of electrical goods. I must have driven past this store ten times before realising I was suffering from an involuntary lexical decision.

* I normally wouldn't put a link simply to give a definition of a word, however being 97% certain that I was using "purveyor" in the correct sense led me to a simple google of "purveyor definition". The meaning was really cleared things up when the Merriam-Webster online dictionary defined a purveyor as "one that purveys".
