One of the highlights of learning Greek thus far has been the fun and interactive way our lecturer Richard Gibson has been taking us through the lecture material. From hilarious word associations to remember vocab to cartoon of the day to singing Nana Mouskouri (not yet but I'm told it's coming). I am loathe to quote any of his jokes because as Gibbo keeps reminding us, he just recycles the same jokes year after year, which is why he doesn't fail anyone.
Nevertheless an Introduction to Reading the New Testament lecturer who shall not be named, upon reading a form (nom, masc, pl - for those playing at home) of the Greek word for house or family: "oikoi" said;
It just doesn't sound right, does it? Oik-oi. There's something unnatural about it... like two ranga's getting married.
Here is my submission for cartoon of the day, modified to be vaguely relevant to Greek.
