Dave K knew. In the comments here.
On the difference between biblical and systematic theology;
_______
I often think about organising your wardrobe to help understand the difference. Think of all the shirts you wear hanging in your closet. How do you arrange them?
Some arrange them in the order they are going to be worn from Monday through to the culmination of your best Sunday shirt. Biblical theology of shirts.
But then again some like to put all their long sleeve shirts together, followed by their short sleeve shirts, then collared shirts, then t-shirts. Systematic theology of shirts.
Is this too silly? Or does it make no sense?
________
It makes perfect sense Dave. You are the people's theologian.
Next up; Dave uses his sock drawer to explain God's sovereignty.
I have been thinking about socks and God's sovereignty all afternoon and guess what?
ReplyDeleteI've got NOTHING! Haha...
Glad it was helpful for someone besides me.
Izaac, having lived with Dave's sock drawer for over 9 years now I would not want to draw any conclusions from it. Although there is much 'holiness' there... ooh bad pun.
ReplyDeleteLouise
Hi Louise,
ReplyDeleteI have an image in my head of Dave sitting around all afternoon scratching his head, occasionally rubbing his forehead, the occasional bout of pacing behind his desk, all for the purpose of trying to come up with a joke as bad as yours! Unfortunately, he came up short with bucketfuls of nothing.
Which I imagine is why it's helpful to marry someone who complements you! They can provide the gags, when you come up short.
You could do heaps with that Dave! But in the negative probably..
ReplyDeleteThis was funny Izaac.
Congrats
ReplyDeleteon the
MTS blog Alan.
Everyone needs a way
to have good contact with supporters
over and above old-school
methods. It's good to see you've worked that
out this early. Speaking
of MTS, I look forward to hearing you
recount how God works through and in you.
Enjoy the experience of ministry.
Also, subliminal messages are strangely difficult to work into comments. Look forward to seeing where God takes you after MTS.
