Bible Book in a Sentence Sunday - Genesis

My suggestion for summarising Genesis in a sentence;
From creation towards a nation.
Can you do better?

  1. Don't be deceived, God's plans won't be thwarted,
    even if Israel do get deported!

    (Are rhymes allowed?)

  2. They're not only allowed but encouraged. My only quibble is that the rhyme would seem to be more suited to any of the books documenting the Exile.

  3. God creates, enter the snake,
    Eve takes, Man breaks,
    Man then makes many mistakes so all drown beneath the wake,

    But God works for Abe's sake, and Abe believes (all by faith), though even Zac shakes beneath dad's stake,

    Then family dramas (what a headache!)
    Jacob fakes while the hairy one takes the cake.

    Joseph they all quickly forsake, then his brothers before him quake!

    As Jacob's body begins to ache his gets his kids and blessings makes,

    Genesis, Genesis in your story we partake,
    So teach us who through Christ are fully awake.

    You said they were encouraged...

  4. A very liberal interpretation of the singular 'sentence'.
